There Is A New Day Coming
Revelation 21:1-4 | 1 Thess 4:16
Lyrics
Verse 1
There is a new day coming like no other day
When God will wipe every tear away,
There is a new day coming
What a day that’s going to be!
There is a new day coming like no day before
When pain and sadness will be no more.
There is a new day coming
What a day that’s going to be!
Chorus
And on that day we will hear the trumpet calling,
And on that day earth and heaven will be changed!
And every knee will bow, everyone will say:
“Jesus is The King!” when He returns that day,
There is new day coming
What a day that’s going to be!
Verse 2
There is a new day coming like has never been,
A day of joy like you’ve never seen.
There is a new day coming
What a day that’s going to be!
There is a new day coming like you’ve never known,
A day we’ll see our forever home.
There is a new day coming
What a day that’s going to be!
Chorus
Bridge
It’s coming!
(repeat with mounting excitement!)
Chorus 2
And on that day we will hear the trumpet calling,
And on that day everything is gonna change!
And every knee will bow, everyone will say:
“Jesus is The King!” when He returns that day.
There is new day coming
What a day that’s going to be!
Verse 3
No pain, no suffering, no tragedies,
No war, no fighting, no enemies.
There is a new day coming
What a day that’s going to be!
No tears, no crying, no loneliness,
No death, no mourning, no emptiness.
There is a new day coming
What a day that’s going to be!

The Story
How excited are we for heaven?
I’ve always known since early childhood that heaven is real. Not a state of being, but a real place. And that belief never not wobbled (well, not much!) even during teen and adult years as I looked in to the evidence for my parents’ faith and resolved to make it my own. But – and here’s the thing – knowing something, and being shaped by it are very different things.
Knowing I’ll one day be in heaven with Jesus is just that. A fact. Having that fact transform and shape my attitudes and actions today is an altogether different thing. So let me ask you: How excited are you about heaven?
ps: Fell free to sing “What a day’s that gonna be!” (I do!).
The grammatically superior “going to be” doesn’t sit so well, but I can’t bring myself to put “gonna” in print!
